I sell vintage linens for a little side business. A few years ago, I met an elderly woman who is downsizing her collection. She had an attic full of vintage items. She calls when she gets several boxes priced. One day, she took me into her basement to show me some things, and I saw the cutest print on her wall.
I told her how much I liked it, but she said she wasn't ready to sell it yet. So, I waited patiently. A couple years went by, and I would casually ask once in a while if the print was for sale. She would just smile and shake her head no. She said it is hard to let go of a lifetime of collecting. Well, my hubby called her last month, and told her he was looking for something to get for me for Christmas that I would love. She sold the print to him and I finally got her!
Isn't she just full of farmhouse goodness! It looks like she has been gathering eggs. I love her little flowered bonnet. The frame is gold, and I'm not sure I like that. I'm thinking of painting it white. But, right now she is perfect!
