Valentine projects on the cheap

I was wondering if it was too early for Valentines Day projects? Here are a couple of quick things I have put together. The first one is a wreath I tweaked. Here is the before:

This is a styrofoam wreath form covered in the cutest red pom poms.  However, the big plastic Christmas piece just had to go.  The thrift shop was giving away all left over Christmas items so I snagged this for free!  Free is the best price!  I added a piece of ticking material I had on hand and a tinsel heart left over from Christmas.

I think it turned out cute and cost me nothing!

The other quick project I completed was a little ironstone platter.  I stenciled LOVE on it in red.

After the holiday, the paint will easily wash off with a touch of Soft Scrub.  I want to use the little platter to display some romantic things like a heart and velvet ribbon.

Again, this cost me nothing by using what I had on hand.  I'm ready for all things hearts and romance.  How about you?
LOVE from me, Jean
P.S.  I hope blogger gets the upload feature fixed soon!

  6. Oh...I love your bright red fluffy wreath. What a perfect feature for Valentine's Day.
I'm not able to decorate yet for VDay. I flew to San Diego for the birth of my grandson. He hasn't arrived yet. We're all anxiously awaiting his debut.
Have a great remainder of the week, Jean.
    Blessings,

  7. Great redo on the wreath. It is so nice to see others reusing things and not having to buy new. Thanks for sharing at the Cabin.
